"Sen. Barack Obama has a sizable lead over Sen. John McCain, polls show, but those numbers could be deceiving if the "Bradley effect" comes into play.
The Bradley effect is named after former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, an African-American who ran for California governor in 1982.
Exit polls showed Bradley leading by a wide margin, and the Democrat thought it would be an early election night.
But Bradley and the polls were wrong. He lost to Republican George Deukmejian.
The theory was that polling was wrong because some voters, who did not want to appear bigoted, said they voted for Bradley even though they did not.
"People will usually tell you how they voted after the election, but we found in the Bradley campaign ... that people were actually not telling us who they voted for," said Charles Henry, who researched Bradley's election.
The Bradley effect is also called the "Wilder effect," after Douglas Wilder, Virginia's former governor. He won by just one-tenth of a percent, but as he pointed out to CNN, "people forget -- in the exit polls, I was still double-digits ahead."
According to CNN's latest poll of polls, Obama is leading McCain by 8 percentage points, 50 to 42.
Some analysts say the race could be much closer or even tied if the Bradley effect is factored in."

So Katie, Alyssa and I went to the beach this weekend. There were a lot of problems, mostly that we paid 400 bucks for a hotel that was supposed to be within walking distance of downtown Charleston, but it was actually about a mile and a half away from everything. We still walked...but walking a mile and a half several times a day through the ghetto when you're dressed up is a little scary and it got old pretty quick. Katie and I were each walking around with knives in our pockets. The one time I did drive into town, we still ended up parking really far from where we were going and having to walk (actually, run since we were late for our ghost tour) about a mile.
That was the main big problem. We got lost driving to the beach. Me and Katie were both irritated about the hotel situation so we were at each other's throats a little. I'm never very comfortable driving in unfamiliar places, so I kept getting lost.
So I was kind of disappointed this morning coming to work bc the vacation I was so looking forward to was over, and wasn't so great. And Devin started asking me how the beach was, and I told her about how we threw most of our luggage in through the hotel window because it was drizzling and the hotel door was too far away from the car, and about how me and katie jumped on the bed to test their bouncability and they weren't bouncy at all so we just kind of...fell...,and then we drank and alyssa was kicking my ass in how much we drank and we watched a lot of history channel and went to the farmers market and katie and alyssa ooed and aahed at every dog that passed, and when we were at the beach katie kept getting carried away by the waves which was ridicously funny, and how katie kept jumping out to scare alyssa when she got out of the shower and how Katie kept eating potato chips till she got sick and how we were pretending briefly to be in a music video while driving home, and so on and so forth.
So while talking about it now...damn, that was a fun trip. We'll just plan the hotel better next time. I'm glad we all got to go out before Katie left for France.
I'm hungry.

I assumed that if I could afford my 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 890 square foot apartment, then I would be able to find a decent sized 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment in at least a somewhat decent area for relatively the same price, but I guess I was mistaken.
Who needs a roomate? As of right now, I am homelsess come July.
